Get as much XP as possible, draw out battles if they are easy and you are not losing HP. A lot of 2 cost cards suck in this game, though some can be leveled up to only cost 1 and they become good or fantastic. are so good you should pick them almost no matter what your deck is looking like. Things like Bedlam (8 damage, random target, discard 1), Concentrate, Footwork etc. Combo is overall mediocre-bad in my experience and cards like Lacerate, Gash and Hemorrhage are very good. There are good cards and there are mediocre/bad cards. I can't remember the exact Sal progression, but Rook is actually very reliant on his card unlocks to become a much better character. You don't need mettle, the game operated fine before mettle was added in early access. Also, you can speed up the game a lot in the options which I recommend. There's nothing wrong with a 'rogue' that takes hours per run, there are plenty of games with the same structure that take 3-6+ hours. What’s the point of a rogue like that takes hours per run? Is this just a case of getting your ass handed to you enough times until you mettle your way up to victory or what? The game does an abysmal job of explaining how to approach things, and each run takes a couple of hours at the least, so I’m quickly losing motivation to get any better. I find myself just getting totally dominated. My main problem is that I just can’t rack up enough damage or defense to ever squeak by the first couple of days. I can tell having friends and partners in battle is paramount. I can already see you want to go all in on either combo/bleed or influence/dominance. This is my first deck builder I’ve played, but I’m not a stranger to strategy games.

Reading around and seeing that most people find this game to be easy and I’m getting very frustrated. I’ve attempted to beat Sal’s campaign maybe 10 times and I’m having a hard time even getting past the 2nd or 3rd day.
